The Bed Stuy Guide

New York is a fantastic and friendly city to explore for families, including with smaller children. Here we share from our family to yours a selection of recommended experiences for children and families of all ages. Be mindful for the kids that in New York you walk a lot more than you realise every day! so we do recommend looking at the New York Pass, to get savings for you and your family. Avoid buying any services from people offering tickets on the street.

- Supermarket Shopping

- Local Wine Shop

- Ordering Food Delivery

We have included a few menus in the back of the welcome folder and recommend www.seamless.com for online ordering options ($7 off your order with that link).

- Eating &  Drinking Out

There are lots of great options to eat locally, all within walking distance. We have a truly wonderful bakery cafe called Saraghina Bakery within minutes walk from the house. It is a local and visitor favourite and can make all the things (flat whites, cortados and all that jazz).

- Coffee & Pastries (all make great coffee)

- Restaurants

Some of our favourite local food spots are (in order of proximity, all walking distance):

- Drinks/Cocktails

- Exploring Beyond

A little farther afield we recommend exploring Bushwick in the area of the Morgan Avenue Subway Stop, a ten minute cab ride. It’s a bustling area with good street vibes and lots to check out.

Or explore Williamsburg and all its delights. This is hipster and restaurant central, and has in recent years (we used to live there) replaced the need to go into Manhattan. Shopping, eating, drinking, Manhattan skyline views, what else do you need? Well worth a few trips there for the day or evening, some insider spots where the locals have been going for a while:
