Location

Our guest house is located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Bedford–Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, also simply known as “Bed Stuy”. It’s a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city after a long day exploring, with plenty of options for food and drink within walking distance. There’s a saying about Brooklyn “It’s not about where you’re from, it’s about where you’re at”. A friendly hello goes a long way in Bed Stuy, and please support our locally owned businesses where you can. We enjoy easy access to Manhattan so you can enjoy the best of living locally whilst still enjoying the delights of the city.

Getting Around By Train

The closest subway is Utica Avenue (A & C) which is a 10 minute walk. Just take a right when you leave the house and then right down Lewis. At the end of Lewis take a left through the park and you will be there. It’s a 15 minute ride into Fulton Street, which gives you further train options all over the city. Note: the A train is the express, C is local (slow). When you are coming back from the city travel at the back of the train so you get out at the closest exit.

Getting Around By Taxi

Yellow / Green cabs are hard to come by in the neighborhood so we would recommend using an app like Lyft or Uber if you are looking for a car and you should be able to get one within 5 to 10 minutes. In the evening, a cab ride from the city will cost you around 20 to 30 dollars and take 30 minutes or so.

Airport Access

The subway A Train + AirTrain combination takes you to/from the airport for only $12 total and takes around 35 minutes. If you have a lot of bags we recommend taking a ride hailing car to and from the airport. La Guardia is 30 minutes away outside of rush hour (before 3:30pm) and and factor in 50 minutes during rush hour. - JFK is around 40 minutes away outside of rush hour (before 3:30pm) and factor in an hour during rush hour. If you are flying out of Newark from any time between 5pm and 9pm, leave plenty of time for your car to get across Manhattan and through the Holland Tunnel (at least 90 mins travel at its worst).

Car Access

If you have brought your own car, or a rental vehicle, the good news is that you have street parking options. Street parking is available, but please be aware of the alternate side parking regulations between 11:00am and 12:30pm on Monday & Thursday and Tuesday and Friday (no restrictions Wednesday or weekends). As long as you can park on the right side, you will be able to enjoy free, unrestricted parking. Be prepared for a $65 ticket if you forget.
